2013 was a strong year for the Art department, with solid results throughout all areas of the course.
Moving into 2014 Visual Art has launched a new course and has several exciting excursions lined up. Year Nine now can choose the new elective, Photography, Video and Digital Imaging. This course provides an excellent option for junior students to try different and diverse mediums and discover where their interests lie before heading into the senior school.
Coming up in this term we have a once in a life time experience for year 9 – 11 to attend the Bundanon excursion. At this three day retreat, student spend the time getting tutored by a collection of artists in a picturesque and remote setting, providing calm and focus that modern life rarely offers. Students who have attended this excursion in the past have returned inspired and with a firmer grasp on what they want from their own art making.
The senior students also get to experience the best of the best from 2013 when they attend the Art Express exhibition. This exhibit has a wide range of works from many different areas and can give the students great insight to what their peers are up to.
