The 5.2 Mathematics course in Year 10 continues the work covered in Year 9. These courses prepares students for the General Mathematics course in years 11 and 12. For those wishing to study the Mathematics course in years 11 and 12 some bridging topics are treated in term 4. There are 5 main areas of study; Number, Patterns and Algebra, Data, Measurement and Space and Geometry. Working Mathematically processes are embedded in the content of each area and focus on Questioning, Applying strategies, Communicating, Reasoning and Reflection.
Course Description: Year 10 Stage 5.1 Mathematics
The 5.1 Mathematics course in Year 10 continues the work covered in Year 9. This course provides a basic level of preparation of students for the General Mathematics course in years 11 and 12. Quite a few of the students at this level of study will experience great difficulty with the study of mathematics in years 11 and 12.
